Risks with International Travel and Expatriate Activities
International travel and global mobility are essential to the continued success and growth of many organizations. It is important to implement such programs carefully and as efficiently as possible to achieve the desired business outcomes and the return on investment (ROI) that will constitute success. This webinar focuses on important considerations to help you avoid expensive delays, costly mishaps and recovery expenses that emerge when employee-related considerations are overlooked.
Why this matters to your business
Failed international assignments are expensive, especially for small and mid-sized organizations. It is important to take a measure twice, cut once approach to planning international travel and assignments for employees. A recent survey demonstrated the importance of addressing traveler and expatriate concerns to increase the likelihood of achieving business objectives for international assignments.
- 87 % of all respondents indicated that having a Duty of Care program results in happier assignees, acknowledging the association between the happiness of assignees (and their families) and assignment success. Having unhappy assignees commonly leads to assignment failure and premature separation of employment, or repatriation/return home.
- 72% of respondents indicated that having a Duty of Care program in place has a significant or very significant impact on reducing the likelihood of international assignment failure.
- 66% of respondents indicated concerns about security in foreign countries as having a significant or very significant impact on assignee performance.
- More than 60% of respondents suggested that a strong Duty of Care program increases international assignment acceptance rates by at least 50 %.

The speaker cuts in/out slightly in spots. Sounds a bit like she is in an empty room.
Good issues and reasons to have a Duty of Care program.
Interesting. Lots of common sense recommendations.
Brenda is an excellent presenter. Content was very relative to today.
